Is it not true that as much as christianity is considered a crusade the same beliefs set by atheist is nothing more than a crusade? I do not think people should believe in anything without questioning first. My opinion is you have radical christians that come up with some diluted visions of Gods work but no more than the atheist who state there opinions for shock value alone.Who is right who is wrong who the fuck cares until the end , even then we cant share the experience. Science, faith ,white ,black everyone keep there crusades to themselves the world would get along just fine.

I am suffocating in stupidity. Given all the resources the internet has to provide, they probably only use it for porn. Go figure.

As a man brought up in a religious household, and a man who made a conscious decision to leave the church, I am very much looking forward to the time where one can read about religion in history books and laugh at man's foolishness. Unfortunately, all the positive things done in the name of religion DO NOT even come remotely close to excusing the vast list of crimes and utter hated bred from them. Maher has it right, the only possible stance one can have on the issue of God, is doubt. Not necessarily the doubt of the existence of the divine, but knowing that what people wrote a few thousand years ago CANNOT be true. People invented stories, I repeat stories, to explain what could not be explained at the time. We now have answers to much of what man only could attribute to a magical being(s) so therefore the stories are proven to be exactly that.

From the Quotes page:

“Today’s religion will be the future’s mythology. Both believed at one time by many; but proved wrong by the clever.” — Steven Crocker
