This sickened me, just seeing the trailer made my stomach turn.

I remember when Ben Stein (whom I once admired) came out with that movie called "Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed" and all the people at work were praising it and they went to the theater several times as a group to see it again and again. One coworker told me I should see it, but I hadn't heard of it yet, so I looked it up and watched the trailer and a 10 minute clip of it.

I had to leave early that day. Andrea makes an awesome comparison, about the car accident.

i've been wanting to see this movie since i first heard about it months ago. it's kind of like how you can't help staring at a horrific car accident.

i think you brought up a good point corey, about how some of these children are just too young to comprehend the dogma being drilled into their brains. one of the kids in the preview says "at five i got saved, cuz i just wanted more of life." please. at five i didn't know how to dress myself, let alone what i wanted out of life. these kids are being abused and manipulated by people they trust. how much better might the world be if all kids were taught to question rather than blindly accept?

My one and only church camp type experience included:

*People crying and swaying and begging me to pray for them
* People putting their hands on me and praying for me when my stomach hurt like hell, and then forcing me to go to chapel anyway
* People praying for me for so long that I missed dinner one night
* People acting like I had the plague when I told them I didn't bring a Bible
* Writing something on a piece of paper, putting it in a wooden box and then walking down a torchlit path to throw it in a bonfire
* Writing messages to God in the sky and then not being allowed to leave until we had found someone to pray for us
* My friend that I went with no longer speaking to me when I had my parents come pick me up early

Fuck church camp
